VTX Radeon HD6450 Graphics Card Star Rating: 3.5/5
The VTX Radeon HD6450 graphics card is an exciting addition to the ATI/AMD graphics card range. The card features a vibrant red PSB board with an eye-catching aluminum heat sync to keep your processor perfectly cool.
The card offers 1GB of GDDR3 memory along with 2GB of hyper-memory and Direct-x 11 support. The 6450 also offers VGA, HDMI and DVI connectivity. The cards specs are perfectly acceptable for gaming and after around three and a half weeks of testing we found almost no fault in small scale gaming. Games such as minecraft, older versions of grand theft auto and world or warcraft ran very well with this graphics card with a sizable 40fps. However the 6450 did lack slightly on more demanding games such as Call of Duty on anything higher than medium graphics settings.
This product features an exceptionally effective heat-sync for the onboard processor. During the tests we regularly tested the temperature of the graphics card itself and found that even after around 5 hours use, the card never reached above 50C. This we believe is a brilliant feature of the graphics card and we are throughly impressed with the temperature sustainability.
This product, along with it's many good sides, does however have a bad too. The product, besides having 1GB of GDDR3 memory didn't perform terribly well on high demanding games. Games such as Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on anything more than low graphics settings made the processor struggle as it simply couldn't handle the intense 3D graphics processing power needed.
In our opinion this graphics card would be best suited to a duel-core system. This is because we believe that if you are fitting a tri-core or any other higher spec CPU into your system a better GPU would be needed to create a more effective gaming set-up.
This product is available at almost every computer components retailer such as; Novatech, Ginger6, MicroDirect, Envizage and many more.
The cheapest price we found this card for was in fact £43.49 in the UK along with postage. Here at Complete Computers we believe that this card is a very good card for the price and we do believe that it is a bargain at under £45. The card does exactly what is says on the tin and it's the perfect addition to a entry level gaming system. For more information visit our video on youtube; VTX Radeon HD6450 unboxing.
